Bug’s Downloads
Here you’ll find generally the most up to date master server list as well as a few other nice and interesting things. At one point the 64bit version of Tribes was available at this site as well.
Play Tribes
The tagline says it all “We still play Tribes 1. And you Totally should too.” Here you’ll find the latest (as of 5/27/21) downloads for Tribes as well as some information about the game and mechanics.
The Exiled Library
Probably the last and largest repository of official and community content for Tribes and a number of other related titled such as Starsiege, however the Tribes content is by far the most comprehensive.
Tribal War
Still has a fairly active forum and community, the site is broken in multiple ways and there hasn’t been a front page post since March of 2018 as of writing this (May of 2021) but its worth checking out for the historical topics and the wealth of information contained within them.
The Tribes Source Code
A copy of the original Tribes source code with attempts to fill in the still missing pieces such as the missing headers and other items and issues. The project to get the code to fully compile seems to have been abandoned in 2015 after 3 days of work.
Tribes Master Server Project
A community implementation of the Tribes master server functionality written by Andrew/Floodyberry after the Sierra/Dynamix master servers were shut off in 2007. Click here to read more about their implementation in detail.
Playspoon
Sort of an original hero of the Tribes community, developer of Spoonbot and Tribes Racer among other interesting projects. Spoon bot and a description there on in is available at this site, sadly the last update was at the tail end of 2012 as of writing this (5/26/21). When we’re all dead, Spoonbots will probably still be hopping around in one of last servers online.
Reddit Tribes Communities
https://www.reddit.com/r/Tribes1/ and https://www.reddit.com/r/Tribes/
Its Reddit, they’re subreddits. The Tribes1 subreddit is probably more of the sort of content you are looking for while the Tribes subreddit seems to be more full of people discussing the latter entries in the series.
Android Arts Tribes Content
https://androidarts.com/starsiege/tribes.htm and https://androidarts.com/starsiege/TribesInstall.htm
I’m honestly not sure how to describe the content here other than detailed and fascinating, worth checking out the art, the ‘old school cool’ and general nostalgic vibe.
Tribes Universe
Hi-Rez’s own website, you can get the factory ISO files for all the games in the series here with some nice little blurbs and a timeline.
Amishrabbit’s Tribes Downloads
Nostalgia and neat stuff, there’s actually some useful information and files here that you might actually not find even in the exiled library if I remember correctly…
Annihilation
Home of the annihilation mod, sadly the site is just a shell now with a link to a discord where the community kinda resides, its a strange situation to me…
Toocrooked’s Server Query
Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t, 99% of the time it shows a very VERY incomplete list of servers currently online, seems to only be reading one heavily disused master server?
ClanOrb Server Browser
A working tribes server browser (as of 5/26/21) that shows current results, its fast too. I have no idea what domain name its supposed to respond to since it seems that no vhosts are configured to respond with that page.
Tribes Master Server
The new-old master server information page, woefully out of date these days and pointing people at garbage it seems? Not sure if this will ever be updated again, last changed in early 2009.
The Land Of Oz
Hard to explain, its an old school phpbb board that’s still active with generally up to date information, a hidden gem or treasure trove of information, there’s even a “Play Tribes Free On Windows 10” post from early 2021 in the announcements.
Groove’s TW Demos and Files
A treasure trove of useful files, demos and other interesting content, worth taking a look through and there’ll probably be more here soon anyways.
Tribes Master Server Query Diagnostics
A very simple site and script that seems to be unmaintained but can help when setting up a server still to see whether or not you are in fact registering with various community run master servers. Sadly the list of master servers is not up to date making this less than ideal at the moment, hopefully it gets updated at some point soon.
Gamer.org’s Planet Tribes Archive
https://www.gamers.org/pub/idgames2/planetquake/planetstarsiege/
This is completely random and off the wall and probably next to impossible to find on your own, but here is a snapshot in time of most of Planet Starsiege’s contents, the dates all say 2006 but it seems to have been captured closer to the release of V1.3? I need to capture this as I’ve noticed there’s some things here that I don’t have anywhere else, even if they’re just older versions of the same thing.
Sierra Help’s Patch Archive
http://sierrahelp.com/Patches-Updates/Patches-Updates-Games/MetalTechUpdates.html
An archive of official downloads once available directly from Sierra for the entire original Starsiege products. There are a few oddball patches here that I don’t think are anywhere else but may not really be of much use? Still nice to know about.
